Annulate lamellae and intracellular pathogens

چکیده
Annulate lamellae (AL) have been observed many times over the years on electron micrographs of rapidly dividing cells, but little is known about these unusual organelles consisting stacked sheets endoplasmic reticulum-derived membranes with nuclear pore complexes (NPCs). Evidence growing for a role AL in viral infection. early life cycles hepatitis C virus (HCV) and, more recently, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), suggesting specific induction mechanisms potentially useful to pathogens. Like other positive-strand RNA viruses, viruses induce host cells rearrangements. The NPCs could mediate exchanges between partially sealed compartments and cytoplasm. may also be involved regulating Ca2+ homeostasis or cell cycle control. They were recently infected Theileria annulata, an intracellular protozoan parasite inducing proliferation. Further studies are required clarify their pathogen/host-cell interactions.

Annulate lamellae: comparison of antigenic epitopes of annulate lamellae membranes with the nuclear envelope
Annulate lamellae (AL) are a membranous structure frequently observed in differentiating gametes and tumor cells. In spite of numerous morphological studies, the function and biochemical composition of this membrane system are not well understood. In this study, we have examined the AL membrane system of vinblastine-treated mouse L cells using immunocytochemistry and Western blot analysis. Our ...
متن کاملFine Structure of Annulate Lamellae
Annulate lamellae represent a poorly understood class of cytomembranes (see references 14-18). The structural resemblance and proximity (in some cases) between the nuclear envelope and annulate lamellae have led to the concept that the annulate lamellae represent a product of the nuclear envelope although the methods propoundedly involved in the morphogenesis of annulate lamellae are indeed var...
متن کاملThe Fine Structure of Annulate Lamellae
Certain lamellar structures have been described from snail (Otala) and clam (Spisula) oocytes, the acinar cells of amphibian (Ambystoma) pancreas, and from rat spermatids. These structures are alike in possessing numerous rings or annuli, resembling those in the nuclear membrane. Thus the name "annulate lamellae" has been proposed for them. It is suggested that they may function in the transfer...
متن کاملIntranuclear Annulate Lamellae in Ascidian Embryos
Adult Boltenia villosa (phylum, Chordata; subphylum, Urochorda [Tunicata]; class, Ascidiacea) were collected intertidally. Gametes and embryos were handled according to standard procedures (Fernald, 1959; Costello et al., 1957). Living embryos in gastrula or neurula stages were pipetted into the fixative accompanied by a small amount of seawater. The fixative was either (a) 2.7% Os04 in approxi...
